 A Terrible Railway Station

This morning with my hands full of bags, I went to the railway station to catch my train at 10:00. I went there with a cab. To my surprise, when I just stepped my feet outside the cab, I could see a terrible huge crowd inside the railway station. As soon as I got myself into the crowd, I could smell millions of odor smells that were really horrible. I could not help myself to get rid of that because my hands were full with luggage. I just squeezed myself between two Chinese people and managed to pull myself out of the crowd onto the bridge to the railway station. I was luck as I have booked the ticked to Alor Seter. So I didn’t bother to queue up for a ticket.

Example of recount: Our Visit to the Garden Centre

I went to the Garden Centre on Wednesday with Mrs Jackson and the rest of class 3. It was part of our project on Growing Things. I like plants and I wanted to see if I could afford to buy any. First Mr Austen the Manager showed us the house plants. He explained that they were plants that had to be kept warm and would die if they were put in the garden. Mr Austen said that on Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day everyone comes to buy plants or flowers and they have to get in extra.

Next we looked at the outside bit where they sell plants to go in the garden. They have everything from apple trees and rose bushes to plants to grow in a pond. I like the rose bushes even though I pricked my finger. Then we looked at the bit where they sell things like fountains and garden benches. They had a stone lion that I really liked. It would look really good next to our front door. Marianne and Nabil had their photograph taken next to a big fountain, with all the water coming out of a fish’s mouth. I learned a lot of things about plants but the most useful thing I learned was that if you don’t water plants they die. Most of the plants were very expensive but I bought a pack of seeds. I hope they grow!.

Sample of recount : A Trip To Jogyakarta

Yogyakarta is one of famous tourism area in Indonesia. Many tourists, whether they are local or international tourists, like visiting this city and So do I. I had an opportunity to visit Yogyakarta in December 2011. I went to Yogyakarta for three days and two nights with my students. There were around fifty students joining this trip. We left from Tangerang, Banten by a bus. After spending twelve hours in the bus, we arrive in Jatijajar Cave as our first visit on Saturday morning. Jatijajar Cave is located around 21 kilometers from Gombong and 42 kilometers from Kebumen.

In Jatijajar, We had breakfast and then enterred the inside of the cave. In the cave, we enjoyed the statues depicting Raden Kamandaka. Some students took pictures in front of the statues. At around 10 A.M, we left from Jatijajar Cave and went ahead to Kaliurang as our accomodation place.

At around 5 P.M, we arrived in the hotel and all the participants took a rest until evening. After having dinner, around 8 P.M, we had an art performance presented by the students. We invited the students to perform their skills in front of others. The performance was quite exciting because there were sing songs, dance performaces, magic show and jingle competitions. The organizing committe also gave many dorr prizes for participants. It lasted about 3 hours until 11 P.M.

Sunday was the most amazing day for us because we visited some great places; Borobudur Temple, Parangtritis Beach, and  Malioboro Street. Our first destination was Borobudur Temple, We all felt excited to visit this world heritage because we had a chance to see the geatest temple in the world. In Borobudur Temple, the students had to interview the native speakers in groups. Besides interviewing the native speakers, the students also took pictures in front of the stupas and many native speakers.

Bali Bomb

The bomb, in the resort of Kuta, destroyed the Sari Club and a crowded nightspot. Many people have fallen victims to this blast. Many of them were foreign tourists, especially from Australia. They were burner beyond recognition. Some tourist who were at the scene of the blast said there were two explosions around the nightclub. One bomb had exploded outside Paddy’s Bar before a Bar bomb hit the Sari Club which was located some meters away.

Hundred were injured in the explosion and about 220 Australians remain unaccounted for. The U.K. Foreign Secretary, Jack Straw, said that 33 Britons were among those killed in the Bali attack. The Australian Primer Minister, John Howard, called its borders, saying it had been a problem for a long time.

Lists of missing people have been posted in Bali and official said that it could take days to identity all the victims, some of whom were trapped in the Sari Club by a wall of flames. A notice board at the hospital in Bali includes a section called “Unknown Identity” and detailed list on victims such as : “Young girl in intensive care, 11-14 years old, face burned, income, Causation,” or “Girl in intensive care, about 5 years old, 130 cm, fair skin, Caucasian with reddish brown hair. She has a purplish belly button ring.”

Many embassies, including the British and the American, are advising their people to cancel spending their planned holidays in Indonesia, and all U.S. citizens in the country have been told to leave including diplomats and non-essential government staff.

Example of recount: A trip to Bandung

Last Month, My friends and I had a wonderful tip Bandung. We had three days trip there, from Friday To Sunday. We left to Bandung on Friday Afternopn and it only took about three and half an hour by car from Tangerang, our home town. We started at 2 P.M and arrived around 5.30 P.M in Bandung. As soon as we arrived in Bandung, we took a rest in a hotel downtown Bandung. After taking a rest dan a shower, we had dinner and prepared for a night tour in Bandung.

Around 7.30 P.M, we drove to Ciampelas to buy some jeans and t-shirts. After 2 hours shopping there, we dropped at Ciwalk for half an hour to relax and enjoy the beauty of Ciwalk. Our next destination is Ciwidey and Cimangu. It tokk about one and half an hour to be in Ciwidey and Cimangu. Unfortunatelly, we couldn't visit Ciwidey because of the bad weather and continued to Cimangu, around one kilometer from it. In Ciwidey, we had a warm water bathing. All of us jumped into the warn water and enjoyed it a lot. Our body soaked in a big warm swimming pool for about an hour before we stopped. At 2 A.M on Saturday, we took a rest in of villager's house there near Ciwidey.

On Saturday we had a great activity because we did many things. First we went to Ciwidey. We enjoyed the nature of Ciwidey's View. We stayed there for about one hour. Around 10 o'clock, we went to strawberry park located in Ciwidey, too. We learnt how to plant the strawberry and of course ate some products made of strawberry, such as fried rice, cake and juice.

On Saturday afternoon around 2 P.M, we came back to hotel to drop our luggages. After 2 hours in hotel, we went to Cibaduyut for shoes shopping. At around 7 P.M, we went to Dago Street to enjoy saturday night there.

On Sunday Morning, we packed up and went back to Tangerang.
